The Peoria Innovation Hub has welcomed its official name this month. Calling on the Greater Peoria region’s past as a world-leader in whiskey distilling and its history as a center of research and innovation, the hub will be branded “Distillery Labs”.
Distillery Labs will be funded through a $10 million grant as part of the larger Illinois Innovation Network and will be located at the Thomas Building in downtown Peoria. Doors are expected to open in 2021.
GPEDC is proud to be a part of this exciting development with such amazing partners, which includes OSF Healthcare, Illinois Central College, University of Illinois System, and Peoria Innovation Alliance.
Everything about Distillery Labs is so exciting, and brings such opportunity for the future of Peoria. There is much work to be done to complete and launch the facility and the community. I am confident that, working together, we’ll build the sort of institution that will shape the future of the area and live up to the lofty expectations and potential of its name and brand.
