In 2025 and early 2026, more than 480 people across Peoria, Tazewell, Woodford, Logan, and Mason counties sat down at five Big Table events and told us what this region needs. What we heard, again and again, was that some of the resources already exist. People just can’t find them.
That conversation became the Greater Peoria Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for 2026 through 2030. The full draft is below. It organizes the next five years around three questions: What infrastructure makes growth possible? Who gets to participate in the economy? What kind of place do we want to be?
Before the plan is final, we want to hear from you again. The comment period is open from September 2 through October 2, 2026. Every comment goes to the CEDS Committee, and we will publish a summary of what we heard and what changed as a result.
