GP 2030 Announces Greater Peoria Job Board

Providing a regional hub for job seekers and employers.

Peoria, IL (April 26, 2022)—The Greater Peoria 2030 Talent Attraction Initiative (GP 2030) announces a digital hub for jobs in the Greater Peoria Area. The Greater Peoria Job Board will serve as a repository of available jobs in the region to make the process of job hunting easier for job seekers. Over 1,800 jobs and 83 companies are currently listed at jobs.peoria.org.

The Greater Peoria Job Board plays a vital role in two of the pillars of the GP 2030 Talent Attraction Initiative: talent attraction and retention.  “Although we want to attract new talent to the region, it is crucial that we retain our existing talent,” said Chris Setti, CEO of the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, one of the leading organizations of the GP 2030 effort. “We want to provide a single place where job seekers can find jobs from some of our region’s top employers.”

Job seekers can filter jobs by location, job function, and by company. Unlike many commercial job boards, all the positions posted on the Greater Peoria Job Board are located within the region. “We all know how stressful job hunting is and the extra step of scrolling through available jobs on popular job boards and finding the relevant ones makes the whole process extremely daunting,” said Joshua Gunn, CEO of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce. “The technology powering the Greater Peoria Job Board crawls a curated set of companies and organizations and lists the jobs available in our region alone. This ensures that people looking for jobs access jobs in the region that are already vetted by the website’s technology.”

J.D. Dalfonso, the CEO of Discover Peoria, said the Job Board serves to create a welcoming and accessible community for newcomers. “The Greater Peoria Job Board will be a huge help to those looking to relocate. We know there are people who are moving to our region because of its affordability and quality of life, but they might also be looking for work. And we also have people who are relocating here to take a job but might have others, like a spouse or partner, joining them that will need to find a job. The Job Board allows them to connect with regional employers and hopefully find work before even arriving.”

Companies interested in being showcased on the Job Board should contact Kari Rauh, GPEDC’s Director of Workforce Solutions, at krauh@greaterpeoriaedc.org to learn more about how to be added.

The job board can be accessed via jobs.peoria.org.
