I had the pleasure of participating in 2 trade missions towards the end of last year with the Trans Atlantic Business International Council. One was a manufacturing focused trip with Turkish Companies and the other was a food manufacturing trip with Italian Companies. Both were fruitful relationship building trips that have led to several interesting follow up calls and opportunities that I share with you today.
Most of the companies wanted to break into the US market and asked specifically for partnership and merger opportunities with US based companies. This is a very common question from European companies and a way that international companies enter the US market. They start with sales and partnership opportunities that lead to larger investment, jobs, and opportunities in the future.
With that in mind, I share this list of companies that are interested in Partnership and Merger opportunities on the chance that there are local companies interested in learning more.

Italian Companies
Procurement Company – This is a global, end to end supply chain management
company offering to serve businesses in GP. They specialize in sourcing suppliers from around the world for the power sector, infrastructure, transportation/metros/buses/etc and the construction industry. They introduced us to a patented cube ventilator with light and photocatalytic coding to remove bad odors. They also introduced a company with a product that turns waste to energy in a sealed, modular system using a Hydrolysis reaction process. They are looking to pilot projects in the US and to be a resource for companies sourcing products from Italy. Please contact me for more information. Air Conditioning for Industrial Electronics – This is a family owned company that used air, water, and natural elements to develop anti-pollution solutions for industrial electronics. Their patented product removes humidity and dust from the air in an environmentally friendly fashion. This company is looking for a US distributor as a way to enter the US market. If you know of anyone who would be interested in learning more about their products, please let me know.

Sauce bottling machines – This is a machine manufacturer that builds machines that bottle thicker liquids like Ketchup, mustard, and BBQ sauce. They are looking to partner with a US companies to enter the US market. If you know of any Sauce manufacturers who would consider partnering with an Italian company, I would be very happy to introduce you.

Turkish Companies
Glass Company – A very large and established Glass Manufacturer in Turkey is looking to invest in partner companies in the US. Their expertise is glass products (flat glass, glassware (think Libby’s glasses), glass packaging and chemicals). However, they are interested in growing in sectors other than glass. They have manufacturing plants in India, China, the EU and Russia. They just partnered with a company in WY and are looking to expand their US presence.
Possible NAICS Codes Include:

- 327212 – Other Pressed and Blown Glass and Glassware Manufacturing
- 327213 – Glass Container Manufacturing

Holding Company with Plastics Division – A large established plastics company is looking to expand and is considering the US and Europe. They specialize in plastic film production and flexible packaging. They also make a multi-layer polyethylene film that is designed for printing and lamination and suitable for food packaging. They are deciding whether to partner with an existing company or build a facility on a greenfield.

Metal Forming – This is a large company that makes metal forming machines and products for the global market. Most specifically the aerospace and defense industries. They have a well established reputation for outstanding performance. They are looking for a manufacturing facility and a partner. The Partner they are seeking will: have market penetration with defense and aerospace, experience running a company and knowledge of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
