We’re already growing organics. Let’s start growing an industry.
Join us for the first GP Farm Forum of the year!
When: February 25, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Where: Beck’s Hybrids, 90 N Fayette St, El Paso, IL
Woodford and Tazewell Counties lead the state of Illinois in the number of USDA certified organic farm operations (USDA NASS, 2017 Census of Agriculture). With this in mind, the economic potential of organic agriculture should be seriously considered in the Greater Peoria region.
But beyond crop production, harnessing the full potential of the organics industry will rely on the ability to grow a more robust regional supply chain—the businesses providing goods and services to growers, and the businesses buying and using organics in their food, fuel, and fiber products.
This FREE EVENT is a discussion with organic farming industry professionals, focused on developing a regional supply chain. What businesses are needed, both upstream and downstream from farmers? How can we help those businesses locate and grow here in Greater Peoria?
Enjoy a free lunch over a presentation on the organic agriculture supply chain. This will be followed by a panel discussion with a farmer, a supplier, an end user, and other organic ag experts. Stick around for a Q&A with the panel and the opportunity to network with the other attendees.
Stay tuned for panelist announcements in the coming days!!
Free Event. Lunch Provided. Space is Limited!
