GP Pathways is a collaborative initiative driving career development opportunities for regional middle and high school students. The program seeks to identify and share information about the most critically needed job skills in Greater Peoria and support a system that trains those critical skills to support our employers’ future workforce needs.

GP Pathways Programs & Resources

Career Cruising
Career Cruising is a software platform is available to all middle and high school students in the Illinois Central College district. It is used in the schools to help students explore careers.

Greater Peoria Pathways Website was designed to share information about career development opportunities and resources with regional educators, parents, and students.

Greater Peoria JobSpark
This career development expo is currently in development and will be hosted for the first time by the GP Pathways team in October of 2017. The expo will include hands-on experiences designed to help middle school students explore all 16 career pathways. All 8th Grade Students in the Greater Peoria and Illinois Central College region will be invited to attend.

Greater Peoria Works
Greater Peoria Works is a software module is a part of the Career Cruising platform. It allows students to connect with regional employers offering work-based learning experiences included job shadows and internships. The tool is currently available only to Peoria Public School Students through a pilot program funded by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT).

Peoria Pathways to Prosperity
Peoria Pathways to Prosperity is a program launched in 2014 to support career development pathways in the Peoria Public Schools.

Secure Software Apprenticeship Program (CICESS)
CICESS is the first in the nation Secure Software apprenticeship program, developed through a collaboration with Illinois Central College and a group of local employers.

Greater Peoria Talent Forecast
The GP Talent Forecast is an annual survey of leading employers that collects information on specific job projections over the following 24 months. This information is used to align career development programs with the needs of our regional employers.
