The Community Foundation of Central Illinois CEO says FFCI donations are off to a good start.

Mark Roberts says the region’s economic development effort, Focus Forward C-I, is using Community Foundation as it’s depository. Roberts says $115,000 dollars has been collected just days into fundraising. That amount is from 4 donors, most of them first installments of long term funding.

FFCI is seeking $3 million dollars yearly through 2018 to operate.

10 pledges have been secured less than 2 weeks into the donation campaign.

FFCI is looking for investment partnership of 60 percent from the private sector and the rest from public sources.

West Central Illinois Building and Trades Council President Mike Everett says his group has pledged $10,000 annually through 2018.
