Peoria was ranked as the 12th Best Exporter by Global Trade Magazine in 2013. The city’s exports reached a new record in 2012 with more than $17 billion shipped.

Best Children’s Hospitals
U.S.. News & World Report has ranked our Children’s Hospital of Illinois Pediatric Urology in the new 2014-15 Best Children’s Hospitals rankings. Children’s Hospital Pediatric Urology, led by Dr. Churphena Reid and Dr. Benjamin Rhee, was ranked 41st nationally with highest marks coming for use of infection-preventing measures, nursing intensity, prevention of surgical complications, advanced clinical services, and patient and family services.
Best Doctors In America
Dr. Charles Egley, a physician with Peoria-based Methodist Medical Group Perinatology, was named one of the Best Doctors in American for 2013-2014. This is the fourth time he has received this honor. Dr. Egley is Board Certified in Obstetrics-Gynecology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He completed his education at the University of Illinois with a residency at Harvard Medical School.
Best High Schools in Illinois
Two Greater Peoria high schools made U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of the best high schools in the state. Dunlap Community High School in Dunlap was ranked 62nd of Illinois’ 677 high schools. Richwoods High School in Peoria came in at 75th. The magazine reviewed more than 29,000 public high schools to create the rankings. Only 177 Illinois schools made the list. Nationally, Dunlap ranked 1,520 and Richwoods ranked 1,831, which puts them in the top 13 percent of the rankings.
Best City In Illinois for Young Families
Greater Peoria’s Village of Morton ranked #8 in NerdWallet’s list of best cities in Illinois for young families in 2015. Morton had the largest median income growth, 58%, in their top 10, a GreatSchools rating of 9, and with only 20% of residents’ median monthly income going toward housing costs, it had the most affordable housing as well.
Best Places For Food and Drink in Illinois
Greater Peoria ranked #5 in Thrillist’s best places for food and drink in Illinois in 2015. Trendy restaurants, such as Biaggi’s Ristorante, Noir Bar, Salt, and Jonah’s Seafood House were noted along with Peoria‘s Riverfront Farmer’s Market, East Peoria’s Burger Barge, and one of the state’s best bars (Richard’s on Main), best restos (One World Café), and best diners (The 50’s Diner).

Ranking is based on publicly reported data. Rankings are updated yearly, with the most recent data from 2013. Hospital systems are categorized by financial size so comparison is fair. Truven reviewed 114 large systems.
Regional Universities in the Midwest
Bradley University secured the 4th spot in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Regional Colleges in the Midwest in 2015. Over 1,600 schools were ranked based on over 500,000 data points.
